Our passengers ~ Our community
The RossRail Midlands Regional Corporate Responsibility Statement
RossRail Midlands carries over 350 million passengers
a year throughout the Midlands and beyond. We provide critically important
public services to the Midlands, South East and South Yorkshire, and are
one of the largest companies in the country.
...but what do we do for you?
As well as providing a range of transport services, we
are residential and commercial property owners and providers of services
to business. As a large company, we have a responsibility back to our customers
and those who we impact upon. In March 2002, we launched our Environmental Impact Reduction Strategy, but
we still feel we need to do more to integrate into the varied communities
of the Midlands. So this is what we're doing...
on, the country's largest listings service, provides details
of gigs, plays, performance and other events from Avon to Yorkshire
Sponsoring arts projects, including those which allow local communities
to express their relationship with transport and how it affects their lives.
Some of the results have been used in InterRegio's
recent TV advertising campaign
Participating in community development projects, integrating the transport
network and the areas it runs through, and supporting local community facilities,
youth sport and skills development. Bromford Central
station provides a previously absent focus for the local area, with shops,
a community hall and learning centre
Offering discounted travel to the long term ill, allowing them to improve
their quality of life by improved access to facilties and leisure opportunities
Actively supporting the homeless, including a new homelessness resource
centre and hostel in the centre of Birmingham
We are corporate members of ten major charities, and in total donate
over 10% of our annual profits to charity. We also help that money go further
by being involved in projects throughout the region, whether resources for
the elderly, or preserving habitats for wild birds.
